Had a glorious weekend
Hope you did too!
If you haven't noticed already from some of the images I have been sharing here ~ I am loving textures! Kim Klassen has been kind enough to share some of her lovely masterpieces and I have been in heaven.
This last week she gave us a challenge to use two of her creations on a photograph
they were Silence and Sweettreat
First I wanted to share my original image SOOC
And here are two versions using both textures on the same photo but
with two different looks...

I love how the use of textures and subtle changes can change the entire mood of a picture. A big "thank you" Kim for sharing and inspiring.
Off to see more great work ~ have a beautiful day!!

Oh how I have been trying to get back to business!
I have no real desire to sit at the computer and edit images or work on inventory.
You see ~
the hubby spoiled me a bit last week. I was so lucky to be able to accompany him on a business trip to NYC and I/We had a wonderful time.
Not much was planned for the day of arrival so we decided to go for a walk.
The day was gorgeous most of the snow had already melted before we arrived and everyone was taking advantage of getting out to enjoy the weather.
I love Central Park with all it's natural beauty and all the architectural details!
and the views....
How lovely ~ there were even signs of buds on the tree branches when you looked closely.
On Monday we woke to snow...a bit more typical for February weather but that was perfectly fine with me. I just went to visit the MoMA where I viewed exhibitions such as
The park was still gorgeous that morning and ......
Not as many people enjoying the scenery on Tuesday but crystal blue skies brightened my walk as I meandered back to the hotel after visiting The Frick Collection .
Oh how I loved seeing the current exhibition!
Rembrandt and His School: Masterworks from the Frick and Lugt Collections
How amazing it is to see works that have been in existence for nearly 400 years.
We saw Mamma Mia one evening and the night before we left we visited the Ziegfeld Theater to see "The King's Speech" - which I absolutely loved by they way - even before all it's Oscars! ;-)
It is great to be back home....but like I said, it's just taking me some time to get back in the swing of things..... ;-)
Good thing I got a head start before I left ( I knew it would make it easier upon my return) ! There are some really great treasures at SimplyStatedAntiques on Etsy
And I still have more to list, which I will be sharing here as I get it posted. Stop on over to have a peak!
Have a great day...be sure to have some fun too!
I love to take my morning stroll after everyone has left for the day and this morning is no exception. The promise of a new day, the birds are singing, the sky is blue and it is a balmy 47 degrees.
As is the case, I carry my camera with me to keep a memory of what each morning is like in my own little corner of the world.
This morning a gift was left by Mother Nature....
A lovely little heart...left in the melting snow with a sneak peak of what promises to come.
Here's to finding little tokens of love ~ may they be a card, a hug, a kiss, some flowers, or a snowy heart shaped grass filled heart ~ a simple Valentine found in the most unlikely of places.
Wishes to you for a Happy Valentine's Day!
Having qualities unique to the art of painting.
Wishes for a beautiful and creative weekend.
We are not human beings on a spiritual journey. We are spiritual beings on a human journey. ~ Stephen R. Covey
What a journey this year.....so many changes, so many ups and downs, new friends made, old friends gone, but without it all I would not have learned more about myself and would not have grown.
A beautiful weekend to you.
It's Friday night and not much going on for a change.
No XCountry practice, No Play practice, and my daughter and I actually had the chance to really visit while doing some cooking and baking tonight. The youngest playing in the other room. almost simultaneously we both commented on how much it actually felt like a holiday....working together and Christmas music playing in the background and such.
It is amazing how everyday chores and simple activities can sometimes create wonderful feelings and lift the spirit.
Tomorrow we return to our regularly scheduled routines ~ til then I am savoring the sweetness of time spent with my family.
Wishing you all a wonderful weekend :-)
Rebecca
